About us
Study Abroad was inspired by Dr. Jose Luis Rodriguez, a native New Yorker with deep Puerto Rican roots, born and raised in the South Bronx. Dr. Rodriguez was always curious about foreign cultures and wanted to experience a world filled with adventures. At the age of 17, Jose Luis made a decision, that once the opportunity to travel arose; his life; mind and heart would gain a distinct perspective of the world. As a lover of learning, of cultures, gastronomy and the great outdoors, it was only a matter of time until Jose Luis experienced the kind of trip he was yearning for. And then, it happened. Jose Luis was invited to participate in a congregational trip to Israel only two years later which he funded himself with months of hard work.
This committed educator had the sensation that this trip would aid him in finding his place in the world. He felt that everything started to make sense as he grew as a person. This understanding is what led to the creation of the study abroad
experience along with Tour Architex. Dr. Rodriguez ́s personal development as a result of travel would be the catalyst for developing an educational program where youth would undergo a similar transformational and enriching experience that aided him on the journey of becoming his best self.
Dr. Rodriguez ́s vision is for youth live out their best experiences and become better people as a result of their truly amazing, fun-filled adventures abroad and beyond
Our team

Study Abroad was born with the purpose to create educational experiences for the purpose of helping youth grow and become better people, while having fun, living unforgettable adventures, socializing and learning about other cultures. Such experiences would be a catalyst for broadening minds while helping them find themselves and witness all the beauty existent in the world. Our vision is to create and offer educational experiences that are transformational in nature and provide a platform, that help youth improve in all aspects of their development. We are convinced that our students returning home filled with motivation, happiness and a positive outlook on life; as well as a clearer understanding that the world is a wonderful place filled with endless possibilities.
How do we do what we do?
1. We create transformational tours and experiences that positively enrich the lives of all young people.
– We continuously connect with youth to understand what are the newest trends and fads that draw their attention.
– We create opportunities to assist youth who have limited resources to travel.
– We research new approaches to constantly improve the educational components of our programs.
2. We assist youth in identifying the beauty, diversity, and opportunities that exists in the world.
– We are constantly discovering new places and destinations that are uncommon to the general public.
– We enjoy creating new experiences in places we know will impact and intrigue all travellers.
3. We believe in a holistic approach to education, where we focus on the development of mind, body and spirit of young people.
– We make it a priority to connect with youth to understand what is important to them.
– We address the significance of mindfulness to help youth with positive coping mechanisms and improve self-confidence.
– We believe in guiding youth with their time management goals to help them achieve those things that add value to their lives.
At Study Abroad TA, we know our vision continues to materialize because of the deeply rooted values we foster. There are undoubtedly many significant and valuable aspects of our company ́s culture, but there are three that truly stand out.
This first is the tendency to approach tasks with a mentality of greatness, fostering a mentality of constant self-improvement which impacts the quality of the experiences we offer.
We also have a passion for positivity; we believe we can overcome any obstacle with a positive mind frame often proceeded by a winning smile.
Lastly, is our ethical and moral commitment to young people; our compass guiding the decisions we make to impact the lives of youth.
