Andalucia and Murcia are unique regions of Spain nestled between the Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea. Located in the south of Spain, Andalucia and Murcia are known for their spectacular national parks, endless miles of sandy coastline, impressive architecture, their mouthwatering gastronomy and historical significance. While most visitors head to Seville, Granada, Cordoba and Marbella for traditional tapas, flamenco and thriving night life, there is so much to discover.

Sample Itinerary / 11 DAYS

Day 1: Travel Day

Overnight Flight from JFK

Board your overnight flight to Madrid, Spain 

Day 2: Arrival

Included meals: Welcome dinner

Welcome to Spain! Meet your tour director, who will escort you and the group to take the bullet train to the south of Spain. 
 
Once we have arrived in Sevilla, we will transfer to the hotel in the historic center.

The group will be given time to rest and have free time before our evening walking tour of the historic center. After a brief but informative walking experience, we will make our way to our local restaurant to enjoy our welcome dinner, become acquainted with the group and discuss the details of the next couple of days.

Day 3: Seville

SEVILLA

After breakfast, our local guide will lead us through a historic tour to learn of the importance Sevilla played during the time of the conquests and the discovery of the Americas. During the tour we will enter the Royal Alcazar and witness the splendor that existed during the reign of the Moorish Empire. As the afternoon approaches, we will head to a local Tapas and Vino bar to enjoy the local cuisine. Once lunch is finished, we will enjoy some free time until dinner in Triana. 

Day 4: Seville/Granada

After breakfast, we will head to Parque Maria Luisa, the most famous park in Sevilla, and the location George Lucas chose to make Planet Naboo in Star Wars Episode One. After enjoying the park, we will head to Granada. 

Once we have arrived in Granada, we will check in and get ready to wander around the labyrinth streets of El Albaizyn and enjoy the local tapas. There is a lot to see in Granada. We will do our best to show you as much as we can but just enough so that you can return. After lunch, we will enjoy some free time; head back to the hotel and rest for an evening of flamenco, local cuisine and the most spectacular view of the​ Alhambra Palace you will even witness. If we play our cards right, there may even be some local musicians playing flamenco music. 

Day 5: Granada

GRANADA


After breakfast, we will ascend to the top of the mountain where we will enter one of the most impressive Moorish constructions ever built – La Alhambra Palace. Started in the year 979, it is a sample of the splendor that existed during the time of Islamic Spain.

Once we have finished, we will make our way down from the palace to a local tapas place and take a moment to recuperate from the morning tour.
 

After lunch, take some time to stroll walk around Calle Elvira to pick up some gifts and even some items for yourself. Whenever you are ready, head back to the hotel to rest and get ready for dinner.

This evening we will have dinner en la Calle Navas, one of Granada ́s popular streets that are lined with a plethora of local restaurants. After dinner, whoever is interested, can accompany your tour director for an evening stroll and eventually to sit at the foot of Granada ́s beautiful cathedral.  

Day 6: Granada

After breakfast, the group will take a local bus ride to the nearby town of Los Cahorros. From here, the group will start their whole day hiking experience in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Guided by a professional, students will learn about the rich history of this important part of Spain while trekking through what may have been some of the paths used by the Arabs in travelling from place to place in al-Andalus.

Participants will also have the opportunity to cross suspension bridges and take a dip in beautiful water falls. During the hiking experience, students will have the chance to practice bonding experiences that are aimed at strengthen their bond during the trip.
 
After spending the day hiking, we will visit a local tapas place to have a bite to eat before returning to the rest and get ready for dinner. 

Day 7: Granada/Murcia

After breakfast, we will say farewell to Granada and head over to Murcia, one of Spain ́s most diverse but unknown regions. Murcia has an impressive coastline, award winning cuisine and signature tapas, wonderful beaches, historical cities, beautiful mountains and endless orchards with all sorts of ​ products that are shipped all over Europe. We are sure you will enjoy your last couple of days in Spain.

Once we have arrived in Murcia, you will check in to your hotel and have some time to rest.

In the late afternoon, we will head out to explore this boutique city and connect the history we have learned from visiting Seville and Granada.

In the evening, we will have a participatory cooking experience with one of Murcia ́s most talented chefs and end the night strolling by El Rio Segura.  

Day 8: Murcia

MURCIA

Today we are headed to the coast to board a private sea vessel and spend some time exploring Murcia ́s coastline. Bring your bathing suit and get ready for a whole lot of fun. Weather conditions permitting, we will also have the opportunity to embark on a journey via kayak. Participants will have the opportunity to explore some interesting Calas while learning about the importance of the eco-system that makes Murcia so unique.

Day 9: Murcia

In Murcia there is a lot of opportunities to do adventure activities that are fun and challenging. Today we are headed to the North West part of Murcia, where we will meet some local experts who will take us on a Via Ferrata Expedition. Murcia and Albacete (the region North of Murcia) is known for having great locations for engaging in adventure outdoor sports. Therefore, we will use this opportunity to realize some team building exercises and experience.

Each person’s ability to lead and follow will be tested. Participants will learn to work in a group as well as independently during the outdoor activities.

Day 10: Murcia

Today we are headed to the coast to board a private sea vessel and spend some time exploring Murcia ́s coastline. Bring your bathing suit and get ready for a whole lot of fun. ​

After spending some time at sea, we will take a break to have lunch in an exclusive place near the beach. Let ́s take advantage of the situation, kick back and enjoy the last full day in Spain.

Once we have returned to the hotel, get changed and let ́s get ready for our last dinner together. We will culminate the trip with an exclusive dinner and private musical performance by local artists.

Day 11: Last day/Return to NY

Check out of the hotel. Your tour manage will escort you to Madrid.
